In 2005 Safeway established a state approved MPN to provide medical care for our employees who have experienced a work-related injury in California. Our MPN is an exclusive group of clinicians committed to providing quality care for our employees.

What is a Medical Provider Network?
A Medical Provider Network (MPN) is a group of health care providers setup by an employer or insurer and approved by the Division of Workers’ Compensation to treat workers injured on the job. Each MPN must include a mix of doctors specializing in occupational injuries and doctors with expertise in general areas of medicine. The regulations require MPN providers to use evidenced-based medical treatment guidelines adopted by the California Division of Workers’ Compensation.
